Setting up on an Amazon Firestick

The Firestick asks for one thing no other device does: permission to install apps from outside Amazon's own store. It sounds technical and it takes about a minute.

Setup is free. We will set it up with you at no extra cost.

Install Downloader

  1. 1.On the Fire TV home screen go to Find, then Search.
  2. 2.Type Downloader and pick it out of the suggestions.
  3. 3.Choose the app with the orange background and select Download.

Allow apps from unknown sources

Fire TV has two versions of this menu depending on how old your stick is.

  1. 1.Newer sticks: Settings, then My Fire TV, then About. Press Fire TV Stick seven times to bring up developer options, then go back and switch it on.
  2. 2.Older sticks: Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, then turn on Apps from Unknown Sources.

Install a player and sign in

Open Downloader, type in the app address we sent you, and install. Any of these three work:

  • TiviMate

    Paid

Best TV guide and recording. Up to five devices.

  • IBO Player Pro

    Paid

Seven days to try it, then one payment.

  • IPTV Smarters

    Free

The simplest option and it costs nothing.

Open the player, choose the Xtream Codes login, and enter the username, password and server address that came with your order.

The Firestick is the cheapest way to put this on a television you already own. If you would rather use the set you have without adding anything, look at the Samsung and LG guide, and if you want to check the login works before touching the TV at all, the Windows guide takes two minutes. It is worth seeing how the TV guide works first.
